After almost two years of gap due to the pandemic, Ramlila will be a grand affair in the city and all those who looked forward to attending Ramlila to have a glimpse of Bollywood celebs who would either be performing on stage or attending Ramlila as a guest won’t be disappointed this year. Bahubali actor Prabhas has been invited as a chief guest on Dussehra at the Lav Kush Ramlila at Red Fort Grounds. The organisers of the Ramlila say that the actor has accepted the invitation and will be attending the grand celebrations here on October 5. “We decided to invite Prabhas as he is one of the most popular actors among masses today after his movie Bahubali became such a huge hit.
He is also a part of Adipurush, a film which is said to be based on the epic Ramayan. So we thought that he will be an ideal fit as the chief guest on Dussehra. We sent him the invite and he was kind enough to accept the invitation. We are looking forward to having him as our special guest and show him the grandeur and scale that Delhi Ramlilas are famous for,” says Arjun Kumar, president, Lav Kush Ramlila committee. In the past, actors like Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn have attended the Ramlila as a special guest on Dussehra.
Last year, Ramlilas were a low-key celebration in the city with many Ramlila committees deciding to limit the number of guests, but this year will be the first year after the pandemic when Ramlilas are being organised without any restrictions. “It has been a long period of lull and no celebration, but now people want to come out and celebrate. We started planning for this year’s Ramlila months ago and we want to make sure that people enjoy it like they did till a few years ago,” adds Kumar.
