Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara’s Gold will not release on Onam

Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Gold was set to hit the screens on September 8, something that had created a great deal of buzz among fans. This, however, will no longer be happening. The film has been postponed by a week. Director Alphonse Puthren announced this on social media with a post and assured fans that will make up for the delay by delivering a quality film. Gold is a comedy-drama, produced by Supriya Menon and Listin Stephen. It is Alphonse Puthren’s first film after Premam (2015).

Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Gold, which was slated to hit the screens this Onam, has been delayed by a week. Alphonse Puthren shared the news on Twitter and apologised to fans for the unexpected development. His post read: “Due to work delay on our side “Gold” will be releasing one week after Onam. Please forgive us for the delay caused. Hoping to compensate for this delay through our work when Gold releases.

Gold is a romantic comedy, directed by Alphonse Puthren. It revolves around the events that unfold after a mobile shop owner purchases a new car. It features Nayanthara as the female lead. Gold will be her first Malayalam movie after Nizhal, which hit the screens last year. The cast includes Amal Ameer, Roshan Mathew, Krishna Sankar, Deepti Sati, and Baburaj, among others. It is produced by Supriya Menon and Listin Stephen.

Prithviraj, meanwhile, is going through an eventful phase on the work front. He was last seen in Therapy, which opened in theatres on August 25. He will be seen alongside Prabhas in the actioner Salaar, slated to hit the screens on September 28, 2023. The star also has Blessy’s survival drama Aadujeevitham, co-starring Amala Paul, in his kitty.
