Although performers Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga have announced that they will reprise their roles as Ed and Lorraine Warren, the producers have revealed little further about the film’s current production. Now, filmmaker James Wan, who is now promoting his horror film ‘M3GAN,’ has shed some light on what fans of ‘The Conjuring franchise might expect. “Yeah, we are working on it right now. With the Conjuring films, we are very precious about [them]. And so we kind of want to just take our time to make sure we get it right and to make sure the emotion of the Warren stories that we want to tell, and moving into, and potentially wrapping up, we just want to make sure that it’s the right thing, the right story that we’re telling,” he said in an interview with Collider.

When asked if this implies the fourth film will conclude the franchise, which has generated over $2 billion at the global box office, James said, “We never know. You never know. We’ll see.” Other details about the film’s cast are yet to be published. Michael Chaves, who directed ‘The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It,’ is presently working on ‘The Nun 2,’ the long-awaited prequel to the movie. This is the second Nun film, with Taissa Farmiga reprising her role as Sister Irene. Previously, filmmaker James Wan hinted that both Farmiga sisters’ (Vera and Taissa Farmiga) characters would cross paths in the same realm.
