Nine-year-old Ishvaku (Aryan Singh) was listening to the story of Ashwatthama a tragic mythological hero. He was cursed to be immortal and lived with the pain of his wounds forever when a group of bandits killed his mother. Soon, he is sent off to his maternal ancestral village in the Chambal ravines, where communities seem to be locked in mythical times.

Meanwhile, the mythical story of Ashwatthama comes back to haunt Ishvaku, after visiting a sacred bull, when it is predicted that wisdom and tragedy will soon come to him.
