Based on Gregory David Roberts’ international best-selling novel, fugitive and heroin addict Lin Ford (Hunnam) escapes a maximum-security Australian prison and flees to India, where he reinvents himself as a doctor in the chaotic slums of 1980s Bombay.

Alone in an unfamiliar city and trying to avoid the trouble he’s running from, Lin gets entangled with a local mafia boss and the criminal underworld that leads him to Afghanistan. He uses his gun-running and counterfeiting skills to battle the invading Russian troops in Afghanistan.
