Monster hunters are heroic experts who battle and bring down the ferocious monsters roaming in the sea and posing threat to ships. Jacob Holland (Karl Urban) is one such hunter, who is probably the mightiest of them all across the seven seas. His world turns upside down when a young girl called Maisie Brumble (Zaris-Angel Hator) sneaks onto his ship, and a monster attacks while Holland is trying to take the little girl back to the shore leaving the unlikely duo stranded together.
